Job Description
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Long-Form Video Editor to join our post-production team. This role is ideal for an editor with a passion for storytelling and the patience, discipline, and creativity required to craft engaging long-form video content. The Long-Form Video Editor will be responsible for structuring raw footage into polished narratives, ensuring high-quality production value, and bringing creative vision to life across documentary-style projects, podcasts, interviews, and other extended formats.
Responsibilities
- Editing Long-Form Content: Edit interviews, podcasts, documentaries, and extended video projects with precision and creativity.
- Narrative Crafting: Shape compelling stories from hours of raw footage, ensuring pacing, flow, and clarity for long-format viewing.
- Collaboration: Work closely with directors, producers, and the post-production head to align creative vision with final outputs.
- Technical Mastery: Apply advanced editing techniques, sound design, and visual polish to deliver broadcast-ready projects.
- Consistency & Quality: Maintain consistent tone, style, and branding across all long-form deliverables.
- Workflow Optimization: Organize and manage footage, timelines, and project files to ensure smooth workflows and on-time delivery.
- Problem-Solving: Address editing challenges creatively, from restructuring story arcs to balancing pacing and viewer engagement.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Film Editing, Media Production, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 3–5 years of professional editing experience, with a strong portfolio of long-form content (documentaries, interviews, talk shows, podcasts, etc.).
Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (preferred), Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong understanding of pacing, rhythm, and storytelling in extended formats.
- Experience working with multi-camera timelines, long interview cuts, and syncing audio/video.
- Knowledge of sound design is a must, and basic color correction is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently on large projects while collaborating effectively with creative teams.
